January Topic: Importance of Financial Literacy

Speaker: Melissa Holman, Community Affairs Specialist for FDIC
Melissa Holman is a Community Affairs Specialist for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, covering the states of Minnesota and North Dakota. Melissa works with financial institutions and community-based organizations to advance the FDIC’s economic inclusion and community reinvestment efforts in low- to moderate-income communities, with an emphasis on increasing access to bank products and services in underserved markets.
Prior to working at the FDIC, Melissa worked in Washington DC at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Treasury Department, and the United States Senate.
Melissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, a Master’s in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC, and a Certificate in Public Leadership from the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC.
All Chamber members are welcome to this free event that includes lunch.
