Dear Owatonna Businesses,
This year the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has chosen Owatonna to be a stop on their Bike MS: Ride across Minnesota route (formally known as Bike MS, TRAM). Bike MS is the largest fundraising bike series in the world where nearly 100,000 cyclists participate annually. Since 1980, Bike MS has raised more than $1 billion to drive research and life-changing breakthroughs. In 2017 alone, local communities in Minnesota raised $641,802.27 to move us closer to a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. The estimated economic impact on a host community is $50,000 for this single day event. Owatonna will make its mark on Bike MS as a host city on July 17, 2018!
The planning for the Bike MS has begun! A hearty group of local volunteers together with the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and the City of Owatonna are asking for your financial support to make the 2018 Bike MS Owatonna host city a spectacular success. In return, we will showcase Owatonna and provide our guests a memorable experience, highlighting the best we have to offer here in Steele County, and encourage fitness and philanthropy along the way.
In order to increase the economic impact this event will have on our community, we are asking local businesses to be well-staffed and open as late as possible on Tuesday, July 17th. This will ensure the bikers will be able to enjoy everything Owatonna has to offer during their stay.
While we have been busy securing volunteers and in-kind services, we still need contributions from local corporations, businesses, foundations, group and individuals to help cover the expenses of incidentals such as, i.e.: water, electricity, busses, fuel, insurance, printing, advertising, and rental of space and equipment.
Please consider supporting this rare opportunity to promote Owatonna and Steele Country by making a sponsorship for Bike MS. Your advertisement will be listed in the Owatonna Tabloid, which will be given to 600 plus participants when they arrive in Owatonna on July 17th. In addition, your sponsorship listing will also be inserted into the Steele Country Times.
Timing is of the essence!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
